KGS-3 : Between 10,761 Won and 15,272 Won
TOUR OF DUTY: 32 hours per week (Part-Time)
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current USFK KN employees (Korea-wide), KN and thrid country citizen family members of US military and civilian employees of agency of United States whose duty station is in Korea, and outside KN applicants
NOTE: 1. Newly hired non-appropriated fund employees of the USFK will be required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. 2. Relocation Allowance will NOT be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area.
KGS-3 : Performs Lifeguard duties, responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons using the swimming pool. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Ensures that safety rules are followed. Assists in maintaining pool and area clean and free from any hazards. May be called upon to conduct swimming instruction for young children, with a parent or guardian present. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures. Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and reports their behavior to the senior lifeguard. Maintains daily logs and records as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Six months of general experience.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible work which indicates ability to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Applicants must possess a valid Korea Coast Guard recognized lifeguard certification covering lifesaving and water rescue methods, skills, and procedures; basic first aid; and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY: The approval of management panel to determine English conversational skill is required.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : Successfully completed education of one year above the high school level in a ROKG authorized or recognized college/university, or minimum 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, technical, or secretarial school may be substituted for the experience required at grade KGS-3.
